Jampakd
Speculative branding for Jampakd, a conceptual outdoor secondhand marketplace that specializes in all things music: Instruments, equipment, artist merchandise, and audio formats. Visual branding sits at the intersection of chaotic modernity and gridded structure; neon-like magenta & blue dominates, evoking movement and energy that defines the scene of both music and swap meets, and its limited palette and clean, sans-serif typefaces keep it grounded and unifed. Brand identity is enforced with callouts and language that is narrative-centric. The result is branding that represents the contemporary music community---bold, forward-driven, and innovative, while still embracing design foundations that make it accessible and approachable.
Development & iteration
Visual direction ideation was gathered via moodboard, taking inspiration from identities of music brands such as festivals and record labels. Very few existing visual identities for established, outdoor secondhand marketplaces were found, so the primary goal was to borrow from the contemporary branding of the music scene to develop an innovative take on the swap meet.
